hi all,

I am a newbie / windows defector. I tried to upgrade to kde 3.3 using YaST (added the SuSE ftp site as an installation source and checked or updated various kde files by clicking the little checkboxes). two hours later, I got a long list (about 20 items long) of packages that "returned an error." upon restarting, though, it looks like I'm running 3.3.

my questions:
1. what exactly does it mean for a package to return an error? is it very serious?
2. what do I do to resolve those errors??
3. what can I do to prevent getting installation errors again?

your help is much appreciated.
jeanie.

It is kind of hard to say if it is serious or not and if it can be fixed without knowing the actual errors. Do you happen to have list and/or the error message that came up?
