First problem:
I tried to install a program (a download manager called: "Download 4 X") but a the ./configure stops with the following error:
Quote:

checking for GLIB - version >= 2.4.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.
configure: error: *** GLIB >= 2.4.0 not installed! ***
The thing is that glib is already installed.I checked it through YaST and everything with the word *glib* is in place.
Any help on what i can do?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Second problem:
I managed to install a program called Kylix3 with no errors or other problems but when i try to run it i get the following error:
Quote:

/home/Leonidas/Kylix3/kylix3/bin/bcblin: relocation error: /home/Leonidas/Kylix3/kylix3/bin/libwine.borland.so: symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
I searched for a solution and i found out that this program has this problem only with SuSE 9.1 that i have but i didnt find the way to solve it.
Has anyone else used this program and experienced this problem?

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks in advance anyone who answers .

On the first issue, the program you are compiling requires a newer version of glib than comes with SuSE.

On the second issue, I don't know. Probably best to contact the developer on that one.

Another suggestion for the first issue -- could be that you have glib installed but not the header files, which usually come in a separate package, probably named as glib-devel (not sure of the exact name, but it usually ends with devel after the original package name).

Not quite sure about the second one either.

Because i bought the suse cds 3 months ago i thought that the glib version that they had was new, but it turns out that is v1.2.10 <_< .
Anyway, sorry for wasting your time, i will find a newer version and if i have a new problem i'll come back.
