Hi,

Now I want that one of them can work with chenese caracters for all kde and software. I tried by changing the language (control center-regional settings) but it doesn't work. Could you please help me by explaining how to do it ? Thansk a lot. Have a nice day, angeleyes

Well do make KDE able to display / handle chinese letters, including the language (so that the menu is correct), you have to install the chinese langauge pack.
Best way to do so => launch Yast2, select Install: Do a search (select 'Search' at filter settings) for 'chinese'. You should find the KDE language packages - just install them and from now on you can select chinese in your Control-Center from KDE. Mfg, Vir@s |

Yes, I do it.
I installed all the Chinese available packages. I logged as a chinese user. I change the language (where it asked me to give the SU password.). After that I well receive all the available apps (KDE, KDE Apps, Yast, ...) in Chinese. Then I logged off. Now I want to log on as the other user (I want he work in the french environnement). And there I see he is also in Chinese. Then I logged off and log on as root. This account stay in french (except a part of yast wich is in chinese). So I reset all the languages in french to continue to work. As you can see. I was not able to set a user in french environment and the other in chinese. Try it, you will see that seems easy but it doesn't work as I want. Please give me a help. I want to eject all the windows installation to only keep a well working OS (Linux indead). Have a nice day ;-) |

That's really strange - how did you change the language settings?

By simply selecting the flag icon in the control center. After what it ask me the root privilege to change it.
May be that's not the best way but I'm a newbie in Linux (because I really want to eject the Windowz). Have a nice day, Angeleyes ;-) |

Ooops,
I'am sorry. Now I changed the desired chinese user languege with the KDE control center (and not the YAST). Then, in fact this user is well now in chinese and the other in french. Sorry. Sincerely thanks for your help and have a nice day. Angeleyes ;-) |
