Ooops sorry, I didn't see that.

Anyways can I just replace my old sources.lists file with this one? Or should I just copy and paste? Will I encounter any problems doing this? Thanks.

Either will work. Just make sure if you merge them you don't have duplicate references. The catch with the default list is that some of the repositories are better turned off, and you have to edit the default list to do so. They lump all the repositories on two lines. I like one line for each repository...that way it's very easy to turn them on and off individually.

so have a look at the script published here:
http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.php?t=23969

it downloads the newest sample-file from the Server and check the content against your private config file. So the result should be an up-to-date script without the "dangerous" stuff

It's documented in german, bat I think the source code is pretty easy to understand and to modify for personal purposes.

why you got whole address for each repos? Why not one address and followed by all the repos you want, making your file shorter, or it's that you can see more cleraly this way, what you have and don't

Easier to see what I have and what I do not... and if I want to turn off or on a repo due to an unstable package or something, it's very easy to do so, just by adding a comment.

Also, for versions 8-9.2 can be added, safely:

Code:
rpm * * *ftp://ftp.funktronics.ca/pub/rpm/apt SuSE/9.2-i586 funktronics
For 9.3, it is not yet available.

My working apt sources.list for 9.3:

Code:
# A very basic sources.list file.
# Remove "base" in case you are behind a slow connection.
# Fastest repository comes first, with netselect it is possible to determine
# the fastest repository easily.
# Visit the server to determine which apt components are provided.

# rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/9.3-i386 update security rpmkeys

# The list with all available components can be found at:
