Essentially I'm looking for a package that'll install all the friendly header files, GTK / Qt / KDE / Networking Programming / All of the above.

To *begin* I am searching for the KDE header files so that I can get this Hello World program to compile with g++. Doesn't seem right to me that SuSE didn't come with the full dev packages installed already. If someone can give me some advise as to how to install these missing pieces of information I'd appreciate it.

Open Yast, and then go to Software Management. From there, you can use a drop down box to specify what type of search or grouping of packages you would like to perform. Choose "Pattern", and then scroll down. You should see an option to install "KDE Development" or something like that.

Of course, make sure your installation media is available, or set up your repos.
