Hi all,

I would like to start a little coding of GNOME apps with GTK+ and Glade.
Now.. i don't want to code in C so there are Options to use Java, Python or C#.
I have the most experience with Java so I would like to use java-gnome Bindings.
Is there really no package available in OpenSuse and I have to compile myself?

Java-Gnome seems a little outdated, how is your experience? Would you recommend
using the Java-Bindings or should I use GTK# and MonoDevelop?

I was googling around but have not found a lot of useful tutorials on using java-gnome, for
example for creating Panel-applets and more advanced stuff. Do someone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

OK, I realized that if I enable "Java Development" Packages during install, I have a /usr/java/gtk.jar that seems to be equivalent to the gtk-4.0.jar from java-gnome. You can add it to your project and code GTK and Glade projects in Eclipse for example.
