I'm looking for a nice python editor. Kate freezes up all the time and doens't clean pasted code from the internet. Gedit doesn't have enough options relevant to python, but starts fast. OpenOffice opens way too slow. I need somthing written to edit python code.

Any reccomendations?

You could try Eric. A Python editor and IDE written in Pyhon. You may find it already in the repositories for install.
