Like to have an icon on desktop for wife to use to boot into windows on a Suse dual boot. Is it possible? As of now I Konsole, su "~:grubonce 2" then "~:reboot" and the pc will boot into windows. I'd like to have it as a onestep process for her when i am not around.

She complains becuase if she doesn't watch the pc reboot out of Suse and go through bios she will miss the boot screen & be back in Suse.

HELP ME HELP HER!

Easiest way is just make windoze your default os.
When you reboot it will reboot to windoze if you don't select suse
No script needed

:fading scream: Noooooooooo!!! I use the pc primarily. I like booting Suse first. I know where to do that in Yast, but I would like an icon/script, if possible.

Couldn't I just create a text file w/a script that would run as root? She knows all my passwords, lol.

n a side note: Anitos you don't game by any chance? Quake 3????

You force me to boot to kde
I am not a script guy know nothing about it

If you right click your mouse in kde and choose run type grubonce 2 & reboot (2) is your windoze
under run click the option and tick the run as different user and type root and type your root password and click run and it will boot to windoze.

I tried adding it using the menu editor and making a desktop shortcut with the same command but doesn't work instead it just reboot and prompt me with the os selection. Maybe we need an expert intervention

I am very interested in solving this.

roughly 3 years
By the way the command is grubonce 2 & reboot as root use in run or in the terminal

On a side kde in suse 10.3 is very fast just a second slower than xfce I doubt gnome can surpass this.
