I have been requested elsewhere on these forums to paste the results of the ifconfig command.

I get 'command not found'. I CD'd to /bin and /sbin but it doesn't help.

I can find lots of info online about the command, but they all seem to assume you understand how to run it.

Any help appreciated.

If you're logged in as root, it will be in your PATH.
