Hello,
I have an x86_64 machine with SUSE 10.0 at home. I am building a ppc machine with openSUSE 10.3 for a friend. During the install the online update configuration step failed with the error "No update server could be added to your configuration". It has failed with the same error several times over the last couple days when I launch it from YaST. When I manually check for online updates on my x86_64 machine, all seems well. I found some topics on the forums that discussed the update server being down for periods in recent times. I think that is not my problem because my x86_64 machine checks for updates fine. I can also actually ping download.opensuse.org from the ppc machine right before or right after the error. Could my problem be ppc specific? Are the update servers for the ppc architecture actually different from the ones for x86 and the problem is just that they are down? Any help understanding the issue and/or workarounds to get updates for ppc is greatly appreciated.
