So I have this ps3 machine. I have an ppc Opensuse Install disc. When I go to Install it. It reads just fine. The problem lies with kboot. It goes straight to the gui. The gui is blank. the edit option does not work. I push esc and i go to a prompt. I try typing commands to manually mount the disk. It does not work. I have the latest firmware too. I have put it in another machine and it reads fine. Please help. there is very little documentation on this matter.

strange, i just installed opensuse on PS3 this morning. when i used the cd it always took me to a graphical "kboot" screen. I hit ESC and a prompt appeared. From that prompt i couldnt do anything...

At the blank screen try pressing enter cause that will start the install process.

I wanna say something about your tv or the ability of the disc to autodetect your resolution, but i dunno
