Please help, I am new with this: I performed the OpenSuse 10.3 install from DVD on a MacG3 tower which has a single drive with 3 partitions. Mac OS9 and OS 10.3.9 are installed in their separate partitions and the
Suse installed into its own. It all went well untill the installation finished and required a first reboot. (That would be the phase when the root password would be created and so on) However, the Mac reboots into the installer DVD , and waits for me to type in the "install" --then continues for a while and hangs loading some driver. I can not find Mac PPC installation instructions that would explain what exactly is going on during install. Am I supposed to hold the Opt/Alt key during the reboot, since there are multiple OSs installed? I did try that, but was not given any boot options----the machine booted back into the Suse DVD, and then stalled again. How do I boot back into Suse in order to finish installation??!? Thanks for help! |

You have to do some partition work yourself (I've never been able to get the installer to do it). Read more at:

Best way to do it is to reboot from the installation CD, and when you get to the new installation stage select >> other >> reboot from installed system. The disk will then reboot and finish the SuSE installation.
I had the same problem. Its a minor one, that has to do with the open firmware playing silly buggers with the suse installation.
