Hi,

I've used Linux for a bit now on PCs without any issues. We've got this XServe thing at work I thought I'd breathe a bit of life into by putting OS10.2 on it but it fails at the boot loader installation with a message regarding not enough space.

Went with the suggested partition setup, which (from memory) was 2 partitions with Apple stuff on, a /boot partition of 150meg, and / partition the rest. Oh and some swap at the end.

Is there some fangled way I need to be performing this setup? I had Gentoo running on this machine but that was awkward too, as it seems to change the hard disk identifier (i.e. the install picked it up as hdc but a reboot brought it up as hdb).

Thanks

John
