I've been thinking of upgrading my little home server and there are great deals on older g4 powermacs. My question is if I take hardware not supported by the macOS and put it into a "mac" running SuSE PPC will the devices work? for example I picked up a adaptec 39160 scsi card 64/32 bit pci compatible if I use it in a powermac (pci-64 slots) running SuSE PPC will it work or will I have to use mac compatible parts for them to work with SuSE PPC? Are there voltage differences or is it just a matter of software support. Thanks in advance
