I have seen a few people that have this problem, but no one has ever posted a definitive answer other than change your OS or "I found the answer" and never gave the way they fixed it.
All it is is the screen position is about 1 inch off, this would be a problem with any other computer because you could just go into the monitors horizontal position settings and move it over, but of course Apple in all the geniusness decided hey they will never have a problem like that, They are running MacOS! So I guess the thing is, I need to figure out how to move the video over. Thanks a lot guys, if you find anything do tell. Cameron |

X section Xfree86 section XF86Config-4 for iMac rev D. The modelines need te be replaced by the ones in this file. You can start by putting '+hsync +vsync' after the original lines. The numers specify size etc. You can find those specs on the Xfree manual. The above '+hsync +vsync' will put your screen back on the monitor. Armand |

open a text window su cd /etc/X11 ( I believe it is that directory) vi xorg.conf go to the before mentioned section go to the end of the line press 'a' (append in vi terms) type '+hsync +vsync' press esc (quit editign mode) press w (write) press q Log oof X will restart and give you a mucht better screen. You can fine tune the xorg.conf file later in grafical mode. Armand |
