Hi,
After installing SuSE 10.0 on an iMac DV 400MHz i see a monitor problem.
The active part of the screen is shifted about 2,5cm (1 inch) to the left and the X-session screen about 5 cm.
Using Sax to resize and move i get an shaky screen or a black screen.

The selected monitor is Manufacturer App and model Appel monitor.

Even using Vesa modes does not work when trying to move the image.

Does anybody know the frequncy settings of this monitor?

Regards,
Armand

I too am having this exact problem, and well putting that in as a search on google didn't help me much other than to say hey you should install Yellow Dog Linux instead. And well...I don't want to do that.

Look at www.dotfiles.com
X section
Xfree86 section
XF86Config-4 for iMac rev D.

The modelines need te be replaced by the ones in this file.
You can start by putting '+hsync +vsync' after the original lines.
The numers specify size etc. You can find those specs on the Xfree manual.

The above '+hsync +vsync' will put your screen back on the monitor.
