FC4 for PPC/PPC64 on newest iMac G5's ms&kb freeze

Hi,
Wanted urgently, a solution to the following......

After a very successful Fedora Core 4 for PPC install and the further additional config (also successful).
The mouse and keyboard all work fine to this point.

At first boot to GUI Desktop however the following happens:

1.) FREEZES UP THE WIRED MOUSE (several tried)

2.) AT THE SAME TIME IT FREEZES UP THE WIRED KEYBOARD (several tried)

either

a.) At the GUI Login (Gnome)
b.) Or upon finally reaching the KDE Desktop.

DISABLEING ...... gpm doesn't stop the freeze up !

DISABLEING ...... Sound doesn't stop the freeze up !

All workarounds and possible solutions welcome !
