So how long do we have to wait until all those factory committs are compiled and released in the factory repo? Theres some good fixes in there I want to test.

You can setup "factory OSS" as a Yast-source/repo
http://en.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Development_Build
Something like:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distrib...ry/inst-source/
Name: SL-OSS-factory
Server: mirrors.kernel.org
Directory: opensuse/distribution/SL-OSS-factory/inst-source/

Yast > Software Mngt
go to Filter > repositories
select > SL-OSS-factory
Fiind the 1st "blue" package in the right window
Right click it: Update > All newer versions

The other day I got 207
Yesterday 7
This AM 13

I expect them to freeze it a couple days prior to GM
Then you should be very close to GM

Then, you should remove that repro, as it won't be long then that factory becomes the base for 11.1 and will be a mess for a normal user.
(I will guarantee that many things will be broken when that happens).

Have fun

Thanks. Hmmmmm something is going on then. My repos:

# | Alias | Name | Enabled | Refresh
--+----------------------------------------------------------+-----------------------+---------+--------
1 | factory-oss | factory-oss | Yes | Yes
2 | openSUSE-11.0-Updates | openSUSE-11.0-Updates | Yes | Yes
3 | factory-non-oss | factory-non-oss | Yes | Yes
4 | http://download.videolan.org/pub/vid...vlc/SuSE/11.0/ | VideoLan Repos

And for example I see in the factory commit log:

here is the log from the commit of package kdebase4
checked in at Tue Jun 3 00:54:02 CEST 2008.

Does everyone else on factory have the Jun 2 patch? How do I fix this?

It's probably in advance of what you will see in the other repro
(But on the leading edge)

Thanks. So basically factory doesnt get synched all that often. While I could add that for the KDE CI, theres lots more CIs changing and it would be impractical to add them all. Guess I just have to wait to test out it all under factory till they compile a new build.

Commits aren't immediately pushed out to factory, openSUSE has an internal build as well. There is some discussion about putting factory and openSUSE development in the build service, which would keep things real-time, but that is future-think.

Since the release date is coming up, I imagine the packages are going through internal scrutiny. I suspect there may be one more update to factory, but after that it will be frozen.

Cheers,
KV

I wonder if they will switch our repos over for us or we will have to do it ourselves.

Thanks guys

I see KDE 4.0.5 has been released - hopefully it will be in an OpenSuse factory build soon.
