Hello all, i am just trying out 11 RC1 and am very pleased with the advances made by OpenSuse.

Good job

There are a few things I would love to have an answer to though:

Trying unpack something with ark in dolphin or konqueror doesn't work.

How does one install new plasma themes (like elegance or slim glow)?

I noticed that numlock is on by default. How did you get that to work?
I mean I haven't seen that working at all on kubuntu

I can't wait for the 4.1 upgrade.

Again nice job

as far as i know you can't switch plasma themes until KDE4.1 (kde4.1 beta is out though and can be installed in opensuse11 in two mouseclicks, for me it is more stable and faster then 4.0.4 you wiill loose the suse customization though).

Ark is working fine for me, depends on the filetype you are using I guess, I heard that they did not get (un)rar support ready in time for ark so you can't use rar files.

I had way to many problems with ark that it was unusable in KDE4.....Now I just use windows until I find a replacement. As for theming, it's backend it there, but only to allow for the SUSE theme. 4.1 will have this feature and it is pretty stable, but at the same time it has tons of annoying bugs.

I can confirm the problem with ark, I have tried to extrat .zip and .gz files with it but it doesn't work, it says it extracted them but no files appear.

Few bug reports on bugzilla about these issues, but might be a bit to late, guess that is the way to go.

Yeah, right

Well I do have a kde3 (kubuntu) system and a separate /home partition to fall back on for ark but this is very annoying.

Lets hope this gets sorted soon.
