I'm curious to know whether anyone else has had something similar to the below.

Installing Rc1 on our spare pc, GeForce 6800, 19" Samsung 940BW, the installation runs fine, in 1280 x 1024 resolution. It picks up all our hardware perfectly. On reboot however, when it pulls up the login screen, it's of a size that means you can barely even see a quarter of the screen, - practically 320 x 240 or something close to that.

Knowing a little more about xorg, I checked xorg.conf and things are correct there.

Running sax2 makes no difference.

Does anyone know what would be causing this? It occurs regardless of what DE you install.

Thankyou

I'll see if I can copy it onto removable media. Looking at the buglists on opensuse, there do appear to be problems with display settings not being marked correctly.

Not being completely geeky, I cant seem to pick up a usb plugged into my test machine and mount it to copy xorg.conf.

One thing that's odd is that in tty view, the resolution is set to 1280 x 1024 as it should be. But all x screens are so big that I can just about see U S E R from Username, so large that it fills the screen.

There seem to be other people with this issue too, some with laptops.

Thinking about it, this appears to be the problem :

I have finally managed to get into RC1 using Virtualbox, it appears as it 1280 x 1024 on Samsung Syncmaster monitors has a frequency error.

Here is my xorg.
