HI there,

Straight over from Ubuntu, here i am. And i love it.

But i cant find the kernel-sources. I use 11.RC1 with only the dvd as repository, because my wifi doesnt work. I need the kernel-sources to do the magic with the drivers ( RT61)

and the kernel source isnt in the dvd repository?

I use 10.3 and the package kernel-source is there if my memory doesn't betray me.

Have you tried "yast -i kernel-source" on the command line?

They aren't included on the cd-install but you can pick then up at:-

http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distributi...urce/suse/i586/

or if you have installed the 4 bit version

http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/distributi...ce/suse/x86_64/

you also need to install gcc and make

Ok guys, found it all, but got an error when i follow this howtohttp://susewiki.org/index.php?title=Setting_up_RT61_or_RT2500_Wireless _Cards#For_RT61_cards

When i go give the command make, i get the following error

usr/scr/linux-2.6.25.4-8/scripts/Makefile.build:46: **CFLAGS was changed in "/home/patrick/2008_0506_RT61_Linux_STA_v1.1.2.1/Module/Makefile". Fix it to use EXTRA CFLAGS. STOP

make [3]: *** [module_/home/patrick/2008_0506_RT61_linux_STA.v1.1.2.1/Module] Error 2

make[2]: *** [sub-make] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all] Error2
make[1]: Leaving directory '/usr/scr/linux-2.6.25.4-8-obj/i386/pae'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Installed all the programms listed in the howto. With my limited linux knowlegde ( this is my second distro, comming from Ubuntu) i think i miss a programm, but witch one.

Ok, google found me this solution, and it would do MAKE and MAKE INSTALL

This should be fixable simply by removing the "CFLAGS +=
$(EXTRA_CFLAGS)" line from Makefile-2.6. The Linux build system already
includes EXTRA_CFLAGS in the compiler command line.
