openSUSE 11 RC1

I ran Amarok and followed the prompts (well, after I copied the link into Firefox because Konqueror crashed out on opening the .ymp file! ), and got this rather confusing message.

#### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2008-05-31 11:22:00 ####

libtunepimp5-mp4-0.5.3-100.pm.9.x86_64 requires libtunepimp5 = 0.5.3-100.pm.9, but this requirement cannot be provided

[ ] Ignore some dependencies of libtunepimp5-mp4

I don't understand what it is saying!

I just want to play an mp3 file, and have no idea what a "tunepimp" is  .

LOL

I removed the default Amarok package, now it's whining about an amarok-live-vegetable or something!

Fekked if I know what is going on!

....and I thought Pacman was a game from the 80s?

I didn't even like it, "Painter" was way better, I spent hours playing that

All these newfangled names and stuff is doing my 'ead right in, maybe we need an "openSUSE - Oldtimers Edition", that uses proper English and understandable names for things!

EDIT:

OK, all fixed. It was "amarok-libvisual", I selected "use the Pacman version".

Best way to fix this would have been to add pacman manually and add libxine1 and amarok from his repos, as that would have fixed it, or use one click install....link

That error was what I got when using the 1-click! from the openSUSE community page. Maybe theirs is dodgy?

Installing a VM-machine to test this. The only error you should get is a vendor change.

Yeah, I got the "vendor change" part (I think!), but the last line of the message said:

[x] Following actions will be done:
do not install amarok-1.4.9.1-101.pm.1.x86_64
do not install amarok-packman-1.4.9.1-101.pm.1.x86_64 [ ] install libtunepimp5-0.5.3-100.pm.9.x86_64 (with vendor change)

It seemed contradictory and confused me, I'm a bit of a newb with SUSE .

But there was no check-box to select: [ ] install libtunepimp5-0.5.3-100.pm.9.x86_64 (with vendor change), although it shows the square brackets here, there was no box.

The only check box is the one with marked with an "X", and NOT installing Amarok seemed a bit odd, as that was the whole point of the exercise .
