My laptop has Intel 965 graphics and the 4965 AGN Wireless. After the install neither are working, I'm stuck at 800x600 and can't connect to my wireless LAN. Can anyone lead me toward getting them going? Thanks.

<Edit> I configured the settings in YaST however still getting a 800x600 screen. YaST is set to 1280x800, however in configure desktop -> personal setting -> display the VGA is grayed out and the LVDS options only allow 640x480 & 800x600. I think this is were the problem is.

Wireless - can see my WPA, but after clicking on it, the box to enter a password never comes up...

Not sure if the bug is still present but wireless for me required me to set up a new connection, click on my access point and then manually entering ALL data.

I probably won't be much help, but the 1st place I'd start looking is:

Wireless: http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Network_A...%28Wireless%29

Video: http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Video_Cards

Good luck & if you find your solution, please post back

I had a similar problem. It was caused, I think, by removing the install disk before the reboot. Even though you want to boot from the hard disk the second time, for reasons I don't begin to pretend to understand, you need to leave the install disk in the drive.

I rebooted and selected hard disk. Once it was up and running, I used the sax2 gui to change the configuration of my monitor. Opensuse was seeing a generic monitor. I had an HP. I selected the model and then selected the proper 1028x768 and rebooted again. Just to be sure, I left that install disk in place. But from that point on, the new resolution stuck.

I guess I can just try the install again since it doesn't take that long. I think I did leave the DVD in the drive until it booted to the desktop though.

Ok, just went through a re-install. Same thing, I even went into Sax2 by the init 3 sax2 -r method, but it will only give me a 800x600 area. Yast does seem to set up correct with settings at 1280x800 but Sax2 seems to be the problem. Anyone else with this that got it working?

Wireless, I did select the connect to new wireless network this time and noticed a 'Next' button so I went that route and entered the WPA password. Works!

Glad I could help fix the wireless problem.

As for the screen issue, try changing screen types and go with something close to your screen size/type. meanwhile I'll do a quick search on the bug site.

Post your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I know you have installed v 11 Rc1, but this issue seems like intel video problems described here on earlier versions of suse:

http://www.suseforums.net/index.php?showto...amp;mode=linear

Is there still the choice to use the older i810 driver? Does the 915resolution (or equivalent) package still exist? Disregard this if I'm on the wrong track

Ok, will post the config file. openSUSE 10.3 detected the intel video so I thought 11 RC1 would also.

As expected, the intel driver is being used. Maybe the 915resolution package is still required to patch video BIOS. I've heard that sax2 does not always play nicely with some intel graphics hardware. If you are game, you could try configuring with X RandR. Worth a try, unless someone else has an idea about this...
