Hi,
I new to suse distro so be gental with me ( opensuse 11.0 beta 3). 1.) I configured a network printer under YaST2 but no apps see it. Then I found the web site on CUPS but still haven't figured how to set the HP_LASERJET_4250 as the default nor print to it. when I do an lpstat -t it says CUPSToOmni: No pages printed! lpstat -t scheduler is running no system default destination device for HP_LASERJET_4250: lpd://147.17.18.11 HP_LASERJET_4250 accepting requests since Wed 28 May 2008 11:08:32 AM PDT printer HP_LASERJET_4250 now printing HP_LASERJET_4250-5. enabled since Wed 28 May 2008 11:08:32 AM PDT CUPSToOmni: No pages printed! HP_LASERJET_4250-4 anonymous 17408 Wed 28 May 2008 11:08:32 AM PDT HP_LASERJET_4250-5 michael 1024 Wed 28 May 2008 11:10:20 AM PDT 2.) how can I determine which device my flash drive is so that I can mount it? It It doesn't show up on anything when I insert it Thanks in advance Michael |

Hi Michael,
I read there where some issues reported with printing in Beta2 and Beta3. Have you updated your install with the latest factory packages to rule out fixed bugs? Beta says it already, but to state the obvious, if you are looking for a daily use desktop distro it might be better to start with openSUSE 10,3 until 11 has hit final release... Cheers, Wj BIG p.s. When updating DON'T update to the latest kernel (all other packages should be fine), there are reports of the new kernel causing boot problems. |
