I installed opensuse 11.0 beta3 last weekend. Using the KDE live-CD I did not find any probelms on my Acer 5920G laptop. However, after installing the touchpad or USB mouse do not work. Also the entire system seems sluggish. It appears the pointer crashes in KDM.
Any suggestions? I could not find a bugreport for this.

Hi Giel,

A couple of questions for you...

Are there any indications of trouble in;
/var/log/messages
/var/log/warn

or dmesg ?

Also check if your system is excessively busy with some process (use top or the system monitor).

I will try to check the logs, but it's hard to get around without a pointer. But am I the only one suffering from this problem?

This one is very odd, - technically I do have a pointer, it's just completely invisible. If you move your mouse to menus, they highlight, you can click on them. You can also select buttons and drag things. The problem seems to be that you just can'd see the mouse pointer..

Hmmm, what's the point of a pointer if you can not see what you're pointing at. Any idea about a fix?

None yet, I'm still trying to work through ways of getting them to be visible.
