Hi all, I think im missing something here. I installed opensuse beta 3 from the live cd on my asus eeepc 900. Networking is not working although i see the cards in the list under yast. I have tried to load approriate rpm's for both wireless atheros and atl2 wired card and yast wont let me install anything from rpm. I made sure the versions match the kernel.

Is Beta 3 so broken that I cant even install and rpm via install software or am i doing something horribly wrong. Just want to get one nic card working so i can let the repos handle the rest. I even tried installing kppp to enable my evdo rev a usb modem but to no avail. Every time i attempt to install any rpm i just get flat out denied.

Any help getting going would be most appreciated

Hi squonk,

Beta 3 should be fairly stable and I don't have issues with installing rpm's.
Have you tried manually installing the rpm on the command line? (just copy the rpm file(s) from the dvd and install), also to see if there are specific errors.

You could check the logfiles in /var/log/YaST2 for more details...
