I have just got my computer to finally recognize a second hard drive after a year. So I am excited, I have tried opensuse 10.3,10.2,10.1, and 10.0. 10.3 had shut down problems. I have heard that problem has been fixed it opensuse 11.0. Is it worth for me to give the beta a shot? Also, another concern is that I currently have linux as the master, will windows stay after I install?

Well it will keep windows and still offer the option to boot to it. As for upgrading, if it's not broke don't fix it. For me it's worked almost the same as 10.3 but I really didn't use 10.3 that much. I do really love the look of kde4 and OpenSuse seems to be the best distro for customizing KDE instead of just throwing it in there.
I'd recommend giving the Live CD a spin and see how it goes.

Two things struck me with 11.0:

1) The improvements in Yast for package management are beyond phenomenal.

2) My laptop now suspends out-of-the-box when I close the lid. I had suspend functionality in previous versions of openSUSE, but it usually took a bit of hackery on the scripts to make it work properly. Now it just works.

Why not give it a try?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, from what I've seen so far, this will probably be the best release that openSUSE has put out to date.

Just my 2c...

Cheers,
KV

Tried it. Amazingly the shutdown still hangs. I am going to report that to bugzilla immediately. That was about it.
