hi, i have the 10.1 and 10.2 but im using 10.1 remastered version of suse, i heared to somebody that
they're using 10.1 then upgarde or update to 10.2. . my question is how to update or upgrade 10.1 to 10.2 and some say that 10.2 is not full i mean a lot of buggy. . . answer me. . . thanks

10.2 is still in testing right now, but it's fairly close to being released.

You can update to 10.2 from 10.1 online or via the downloaded CD/DVD, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it unless you're comfortable with handling dependencies or tweaking your system.

There's nothing structurally different between 10.1 and 10.2, it really is just a collection of updated changes etc. which makes upgrading-in-place easier, but these upgrades are always more complicated when you have installed third-party packages (ie. from guru or packman) or installed outside of the package manager. There's a lot of manual work involved in resolving dependencies in these cases. So I wouldn't try unless you've only used the Suse repositories for all of your packages or you know your system well.

10.2 will be released officially in early December, if you can hold off until then you may be more comfortable just reinstalling from that.

mybe i'll wait for the official released of 10.2 instead. . anyway i have already download the wine then i tray to install here at my PC but agter i install i can't see any icon on my desktop or i can't find where the wine is??? can you tell where to go, and to see if wine is installed on my PC. . . help me please. . . thanks

open a console and type 'which wine'
if it says something like '/usr/bin/wine' then wine is installed on your system

to run a program under wine, just type: wine /path/to/program.exe
