I have a HP Pavilion s7600n with an AMD64 3500+ processor. I am running 10.1 x86-64 (from re-mastered) just fine.
I downloaded 10.2 beta x86-64 when it came out this week. It will not install. It stops on a line that says "io scheduler cfq registered (default)" If I set the boot parameter "acpi=off" it gets as far as the language screen, but is not responding to the mouse or keyboard.

Is anyone out there suceeding with 10.2 beta x86_64? Any tips/tricks? Should I be looking at just using the x86 version and steer away from 64-bit? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Kirk

UPDATE: I got it running by using the parameters "noacip" and "maxcpus=1" on the boot line. To be honest, I don't know which parameter did the trick!

noapic is the magic bullet, my AMD laptop won't make it through a kernel boot without that, either 32 or 64 bit, and from what I've seen in the past it seems to be universal.

Glad to hear you got it going, it's a drag to get set with a fresh install and have it grind to a screeching halt...

Cheers,
KV
