Fresh system installation. Not an upgrade. Installing from DVD.
There are no messages, no errors, no nothing. It installs all the packages just fine, but when it goes to the kernel one, it hangs up.
Any suggestions?

What's your hardware config?

Also, did you verify the media after loading the install disc? Could only take a couple of back bytes on an .iso burn to ruin your install.

That's weird. Try using the net boot perhaps.
