10.2 Alpha 3 on AMD 2GHz desktop - I must say I'm quite impressed. It seems fast, and close to usable (especially for alpha code).
However, the integrated C-Media CM8738 sound won't work - card recognised correctly but non-functional. If I use YaST (in text mode, fttb ) I can see config but can't edit it - selecting for edit kills YaST. Nothing relevant in in /var/log/messages, but looking at in /var/log/YaST2/y2log:2006-08-17 13:35:25 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/read_routines.ycp:346 Found sound card hwconfig (vpid-13f6-0111-1462-5900): $["alias":"snd-card-0", "hwcfg":"vpid-13f6-0111-1462-5900", "model":"CM8738", "module":"snd-cmipci", "unique_key":"lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE"] 2006-08-17 13:35:25 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] Sound.ycp:517 read_hwconfig: [$["alias":"snd-card-0", "hwcfg":"vpid-13f6-0111-1462-5900", "model":"CM8738", "module":"snd-cmipci", "unique_key":"lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE"]] 2006-08-17 13:35:26 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/complex.ycp:44 unconfigured_cards: [] 2006-08-17 13:35:26 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/complex.ycp:45 modules_conf: [$["alias":"snd-card-0", "hwcfg":"vpid-13f6-0111-1462-5900", "model":"CM8738", "module":"snd-cmipci", "unique_key":"lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE"]] 2006-08-17 13:35:32 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/complex.ycp:386 WaitForEvent: $["event":$["EventReason":"Activated", "EventSerialNo":0, "EventType":"WidgetEvent", "ID":`edit, "WidgetClass":`PushButton, "WidgetDebugLabel":"Edit", "WidgetID":`edit], "selected":"lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE"] 2006-08-17 13:35:32 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/complex.ycp:262 uniq (lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE) in configured: nil, in detected: nil 2006-08-17 13:35:32 <3> f0993(4157) [YCP] sound/complex.ycp:279 card lgGW.B+AJbtn4CLE was not found! 2006-08-17 13:35:32 <1> f0993(4157) [YCP] clients/sound.ycp:595 Sound module finished - so something odd's happening. Not sure yet if this might be a bug - anyone else seen anything similar? |
