Hi
My friend has this HP with OpenSUSE 10.3 on it. Everything works wonderfully, but neither of its network cards work properly. The wireless card can detect wireless networks, even connect to them (so it ways) but if I ping another computer on the network it says Destination host unreachable.
As for the Ethernet, the card is displayed in yast, but I plug in a cable and try ping another computer, and the same thing happens... Destination host unreachable.

Thanx for replying!

1) I'm very sure firewall isn't blocking. I turned firewall off and it still wouldn't ping.
2) ipv6 is disabled. I habitually turn in off during installation every time I install suse.
3) DNS is correct. But I'm not sure what the correct hostname should be?

Everything points to it working. KInternet says I'm connected to the wireless network. I'm sure I put the WEP passkey in correctly. I double-checked everythng.

Ethernet is even less hopeful, strangely... I plugged it into the router using a working cable (I tested it), but in yast it says "not connected" for the Ethernet...

It says it's a Compaq RTL-8139C+, does that mean Realtek drivers won't work with it?
