I have been following all the instructions I can find to install the above mentioned items on a Suse 10.2 machine. The adapter does NOT light up at the desktop and I followed instructions to load the driver that works for Windows XP. Does anyone know if they work for Suse? How can I find the problem area. Although I am somewhat new to Linux I can usually find my way around so let me know your thoughts.....thanks...Bobby

Your router is not sending your computer DNS information, according to the PM you sent me. Therefore you need to either manually set your DNS preferences in YaST or play with the router's DNS settings.

I'll have to look into that. I also believe I may have a driver issue for the USB Adapter. It does not light up after the system boots up and when I query it with "ndiswrapper" it says "invalid driver". I have tried ALL the XP drivers and get that message for every one.

Your device must not be compatible with ndiswrapper then; I'd try requesting help on the ndiswrapper forums.

There seems to be success in Suse with some extra difficulties. There's an interesting thread here:
http://suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=43391. Art972 got this:
Quote:
House-linux:/home/art # ndiswrapper -l
netmw245 : driver installed
device (13B1:0029) present[/b]
So post what you get miamibob

I have used the same driver (same name, at least) that others have used (MRVW245.inf/sys) and when I check ndiswrapper -l it says "incorrect driver". Any thoughts???

The "netmw245" file I have is only a "setup " text file. It is not a "sys" or "inf" file. What file ACTUALLY do I need to load with ndiswrapper?? Thanks...Bobby

Looks like progress. It's the .inf file.

Which "inf" file? As I said the "netmw245" is only a text file. I think I need the EXACT name of the required file along with the extension.

Delete what you've already installed then download the package from here:
http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c...d#versiondetail

IN the zip file is a directory called drivers/xp_2k. Transfer the WHOLE directory xp_2k and point ndiswrapper to the directory and file netmw245.inf

PS here's some more on deleting: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/joomla/...3/id,uninstall/
