I have no idea how to setup my PCI wireless Adapter card with OpenSUSE 10.3. I was hoping this card was going to work "out of the box", but it's a no go there. Please would someone help me out?

Spec:
OpenSUSE 10.3 GNOME i386
WG31v3 PCI Wireless Adapter Card
Wireless-G 54 MBPS 2.4 GHz 802.1g

Thank you and please let me know if, I need any more information.

Terminal:
Quote:
Setup 1:
pci slot number 1: wireless adapter
(no ethernet card)

# ifconfig
lo Link encap:Local Loopback
# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
# iwpriv -a
lo no private ioctls.

Setup 2:
# ifconfig
pci slot number 1: Ethernet Card
pci slot number 3: wireless card

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:10:4B3:7D:4C

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
# iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.[/b]

I am sorry, if this is a silly question. But how do I know out which driver is support for my wireless card?

i am just guessing, but, going by the info you have given, you have a netgear card ? if so,it appears you may need to use ndiswrapper. have a look here for your card http://linux-wless.passys.nl/query_part.ph...andname=Netgear for a good how-to look here http://www.andrewd18.com/ndiswrapper/

deltaflyer, I think I missed something.... In the howto. He only has how-to for 9.x through 10.2. So, there is no how-to for 10.3. Should I just used 10.1/10.2 howto instead?

EDITED: My card is supported. So, that's good news.

use this part http://www.andrewd18.com/ndiswrapper...erinfo-gui.php & if you can't follow this one, try this http://stuntmanandy.no-ip.biz/Howto%27s.html scroll down to ndiswrapper bit
