Hi, I'm pretty new to these forums and linux (I'm using opensuse 10.3 64bit) too, I've been trying to get my wireless usb adapter (linksys wusb11 v 2.6) to work for a few days. I had gotten it working, but I messed up suse while trying to configure some nvidia drivers and had to do a fresh install. I can't remember how I got it to work before, I tried ndiswrapper and the atmel drivers and after a while it just...started working. With this install Suse recognizses my adapter under the hardware information network cards and usb areas, but it lists it as inactive in both. Harware information also says "modprobe: yes" and tells me the command 'modprobe at76c503-rfmd' but when I try to run that command it says the module is unknown...I'm pretty sure thats what I had to do last time to get it working before but I can't figure out whats wrong this time. I tried to install the rpm atmel-firmware and then run modprobe but that didn't change anything. I kind of ran out of ideas for as to what to do now <_< , if anyone has some advice I'd be very greatful thank you!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I've tried adding a new wireless device and setting the module to "atc76503-rfmd", but once I finish the wizard it just says 'not connected' and when I look at it's config the module area is blank. I've also tried setting the device type to usb, selecting the usb check box and other combinations with usb, wireless and the usb check box.

I think I figured it out, I was playing around with ndiswrapper again and whatched the system log and recieve this error "kernel is 64-bit, but the windows driver is not 64-bit;bad magic" Is there a way to resolve this or will I have to revert to 32-bit suse?
