I've been running OpenSuse 10.2 for about a week now
So here is my situation. I am running an acer... with a broadcom wifi. (I know, I know...) From the many days I've spent reading, and yet hardly understanding, I seem to have three options (please correct me if I am wrong) not including chucking the card and getting something better.
Which of these is my best bet?
1: madwifi
2: ndiswrapper
3: acerhk-0.5.35 (the supposed acer fix for linux issues)
Please bare-in-mind that I don't have regular net access, and cannot dnl anything easily or readily. I should have the correct version of acerhk already, but can't figure out how to install it (sorry... if it's not clear-cut like simple math... I can't wrap my non-linear thinking brain around it). Also, Every time I try to install a package, it asks for cd1... I used the DVD install. and when I try to put it in, it returns an error... seeing as how it's not asking for a DVD, I'm not too surprised. So ndiswrapper isn't installed either...
This is a bit galling for me, as I hate asking for help... but I just don't have the access I need to be able to completely handle this as easily as I did before changing over to Linux.
