The openSUSE Hardware Compatibility List for wireless adapters is a good -lace. Choose on that works with madwifi drivers is a good idea. I use a D-Link DWL-G520 PCI card with madwifi. Works for me, although oldcpu talks a little about the need for the correct version.

is that the right one? idk if it says i already have this card and havent been able to get it to work Card: Gigabyte GN-WP01GS (PCI) * Chipset: Ralink RT61 * pciid: * Driver: Windows XP driver on cd * Other: Works well with openSUSE 10.3, kernel. 2.6.22. Not works with native linux driver (rt61pci or rt61). Native driver must be blacklisted - possible conflict with ndiswrapper. :/ |

I use the card on the Amazon link. But I don't know its model number.
The Ralink card, what's its pciid? Use lspci and lspci -n to find out. |

The Ralink Gigabyte brand card works with Ndiswrapper in openSUSE. Have you tried it with Ndiswrapper plus the blacklist entry?

My wife has a D-Link-DWL-G520 that we purchased, with an Atheros B3 chipset, which "just works" with the madwifi driver.

2. Left-click once on the "Installation Sources" button. After a minute, a list of repositories will appear. i know im going to sound like an idiot but i dont see that anywhere in yast. if i go to add on product it gives me the option to specify url, but i haven seen it anywhere else. |
