I have an dell d830 latop, with an intel 4965 and the wireless wont work.

it says an unkown device 1121.

Any ideas -not to difficult- to solve this.

sorry, sorry, sorry.

RFM.

Thanks to my wife its now working,. On my (new) dell laptop there is on the leftsite a button for wireless says the manual (my wife told me that). I put it on and it worked directly.

its working out of the box!!!

You didn't admit your mistake to your wife did you?
You will never live that down.

Glad it works. Acer laptops has a similar button on the front of some of their laptops.

The same happened to me two monts ago, when I was installing openSUSE 10.3 x86_64 in my freshly bought HP Pavilion dv9780es. I was going mad, until I realized about the 'wi-fi' switch in the front of the laptop

I'm feeling henpecked already! Not to be shown up though, for a while my better half kept turning the wireless off on her HP - she thought it was the screen latch!

Some thing are difficult, and some things are not.

This is my first install were opensuse picks all the devices correct and -starting from 7.1- out off the box.!
