i have used the one click install for madwifi. i have an atheros 5005g adapter. i have gone to yast>network> devices and tried to add a wireless device but i still can't get the network manager in the system tray. i am using suse 10.3.

the madwifi installation was successful. what is the procedure from this point until i can see available wireless networks in my system tray?

In Yast you need to specify to use a network manager instead of than "traditional method with ifup". E.g see pic #11 in this internet link (but put the dot beside to use network manager). And of course you need the network manager software installed e.g. KnetworkManager (KDE) or nm-applet (Gnome) or wifi-radar (KDE and Gnome). And finally arrange for the manager to start at boot. E.g in KDE the manager is at search in menu = knetw
