I've installed 10.1 and updated on a Dell D810. Everything seems to work well except the wireless.
The internal wireless card is an Intel Pro 2915abg which is recognized by yast. I have tried deleting and re-adding the card via yast. No change. The driver being loaded is IPW2200. The firmware was downloaded and installed in /lib/firmware I've tried both with networkmanager and the traditional ifup approach. I've tried to set the eth0 internal NIC to start manually as seen in a topic but that made no difference. The following messages appear in dmesg ipw2200: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. ipw2200: Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.0.10 ipw2200: Copyright© 2003-2005 Intel Corporation ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection ipw2200: ipw-2.4-boot.fw load failed: Reason -2 ipw2200: Unable to load firmware: -2 ipw2200: failed to register network device ipw2200: probe of 0000:03:03.0 failed with error -5 ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Network Connection ipw2200: ipw-2.4-boot.fw load failed: Reason -2 ipw2200: Unable to load firmware: -2 ipw2200: failed to register network device ipw2200: probe of 0000:03:03.0 failed with error -5 I have not tried ndiswrapper. Hoping this is something simple that I don't understand. Any help appreciated. |
