If you know that your driver is not supported out-of-the-box by SUSE, but it does have a native Linux driver, you can follow one of these How-To's to get it working. Some are easier than others.
Atheros 521x 32-bit: http://madwifi.org/suse/ 64-bit: http://madwifi.org/suse/ Download and install the kmp- package that matches your current kernel as well as the matching "madwifi" package. Then, set the card up with YaST. The RPMs will need to be reinstalled after every kernel update. Alternately, use E@syVG's tutorial and compile it from source.
