With YAST I installed ndiswrapper from the DVD (I'm using SuSE 9.2, 64-bit version). I can do 'ndiswrapper -i', ditto -l, but when giving the command modprobe ndiswrapper, I get the message 'FATAL: module ndiswrapper not found'. Why isn't the module included in the .rpm? Or do I have to do something more to install it besides using YAST? Or don't I need it?? I suppose I do since my wireless card isn't found.
I've seen this question (no answer unfortunately) in another forum, so obviously I'm not the only one who has bumped into this problem. Has anyone seen a solution to it - apart from compiling from source? |

Hopefully someone who uses wireless capabilities could help you better but I thought that there was no ndiswrapper under 64 bit yet.

You're correct, 69_rs_ss. There are no 64-bit ndis drivers available for Windows and ndiswrapper uses the Windows drivers. Also ndiswrapper expects 32-bit words and wouldn't know what to do with 64. Will have to wait on the code monkeys--watch ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net for further developments. Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to give a workable 64-bit alternative, gorankallqvist. I assume you've googled your wireless card to see what Linux drivers may be available?
