Under Suse 10.3 using either vnc or freenx and remotely connected to a gnome desktop there is no main menu in the gnome panel. It works when connected to root, but not as a normal user. If I try to add the main menu button (panel -> add -> main menu) the main menu button will appear on the local desktop, but not on the new (remote) desktop. It is like the menu is confused about which session it should be attached to.

I saw one other person mention this problem, but I didn't see a resolution. Any thought?

P.S. I have a machine with Suse 10.2 which works fine.
