i connect to vpn from my machine
when run kvpnc as root it's ok but when start it as user it's timeouting without any other error messages with the same settings
is it normal and if not what should be done to run kvpnc as user?

Is this the frontend to vpnc, the client to Cisco concentrators? vpnc has to have root privileges to create the tunnel device. If you are launching from an app icon, you need to specify run as root (advanced options). Then it should prompt you for the root password before it starts.

yes, it's kde frontend. thanks for reply, it do prompts for root psw i was just wondering :-)
