I want to connect to another linux machine in a local network such that I can run a terminal on it, as if I were sitting in front of it.
I enabled SSH, external zone, in the YaST->Securit y & Users->Firewall settings, but now I'm at something of a loss. I'm told I need to set port-forwarding in a router, but before I go hassling the network guys, can anyone explain a bit more about that to me so I know I'm doing the right thing?

Edit: Oh, for crying out loud, I was thinking about this way too much and it turned out to be simplicity itself over a local network. I didn't need to fiddle with any settings at all, it seemed, to use SSH to connect. Nonetheless, if anyone has an answer to the above that will help when I decide to log in to a machine at work from home, I'd appreciate it.
