I have noticed recently that my internet connection is slow during the evening, also some sites time out with a connection error message while other sites I can get on OK. Would my guess that this is possibly due to large numbers of people accessing the internet at once reducing the bandwidth available or could there be another reason, I'm using Open suse 10.2 with a belkin router running through a netgear router in the UK. Also is there any way to get around this problem.

Thanks for any help.

That happened to me for a period of time in Oz. I got relief by changing to OpenDNS. After a while I was able to change back to the ISP's name servers (presumably because they upgraded them). Might be worth a look.
