I have a computer with XDMCP enabled, but when I try to connect to it I get problem.

As a remote computer I use a Suse computer, and I select remote login(XDMCP-chooser).
Now I can see my XDMCP server computer appear, but the hostname is wrong and a connection
does not work. If I press the refresh button I can an another name appear. If a press refresh button
a lot I can see the name repeat. It is

bartpe-13298
ge-4176598cf649
"the correct hostname"
xpbuild
bartpe-13298
ge-4176598cf649
"the correct hostname"
xpbuild
......and so on...

Have anyone a idea whats wrong?

Agreed.

I have several FC1 machines available plus two new OpenSuse 10.3 machines.

Using the following command on my Cygwin-X system:
Xnest :1 -indirect machine &
I can get a chooser that shows all of the machines. Access to the FC1 machines works just fine, giving me a proper desktop login.

However, accessing either of the OpenSuse machines just gives me a gray screen with the standard X cursor that times out after a while bringing me back to the chooser.

This is even noted in the page http://en.opensuse.org/Remote_Access_to_SUSE which says:
Quote:
Working from an X Terminal, you have to configure your X terminal to make a direct XDMCP request to the Linux server, other methods (e.g. "indirect") will not work (at least did not work for me on SuSE 10.3). The often mentioned setting in /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc ([Xdmcp]Enable=true) seems to be completely useless, so leave it alone.[/b]
As mentioned in the comment, using "Xnest :1 -query machine" works just fine.

What is the status of this investigation?
