so i forgot that the local user of the pc wasn't badger_fruit, it's 'dan'
1. i installed samba-client and cifs-mount
2. enabled smbfs service in system services
3. change the /etc/fstab line to "username=badger_fruit,password=######,auto,uid=da n,gid=users"

rebooted and it's worked
