Hi,

I am using OpenSuse since sometimes now. I've tried at the same time many others distro and OS, but it seems clear that only Opensuse can provide me with what i want for what i want to do with a computer..
The things is that i'd like to do a bit more than simply using it on a basic usage, so i am trying to find some book to purchase in order to know more about it..
Found different one, but reviews were not all the best, or chapter do not match my needs ( long chapter on how to use OpenOffice for example.. )
Anyone to recommend a book in order for me to unleash the power of OpenSuse ( Security, Optimizing, Tweaking, Networking, Multimedia.. ? )

Thanks

I find the Start-up book perfectly good for that... it's available as a book if you pought the boxed copy of SUSE, or in the Help program under 'STARTUP GUIDE"

There is plenty to read on the net without paying for any books. You can Google any topic you think of such as "SUSE multimedia" or "SUSE security" and get lots of results. The Novell website also has tons of documentation readily available for your reading pleasure.

Remember. Nobody Does Documentation Like Novell Does Documentation.

Hi all,

Thanks for the answers.
I read time to time the online Novell doc which is very good i must admit. Its just that sometimes at work, or in bed, i wouldnt mind to still be able to read, and i dont have a laptop
I will try the next Unleashed version just to give a try, as there should be a dvd thats comes with it anyway.

Thanks

Linux In A Nutshell is a great book. I have a copy and recommend it highly. It is not SUSE specific.

Ideally i would need an encyclopedia..
This nutshell is command line oriented but might lack the kde/gnome specific for people using only/mainly the gui.
I read already books of this collection and for sure, they are good
