seriously (not being a smart ***) you can get a 120G disk for 60.00 now brand new (I have even seen it cheaper). My suggestion would be upgrade the 2G hd and then use it for a paperweight..........

You can do what rockstar suggested or you can tell us what you will do with the computer and we can name the applications you can eliminate to free up space.

Hit a few of the local computer shops and ask around. A lot of them have stacks of old small hard drive in the back. You can probably talk them out of a 4 or 10 GB drive for free or close to it.

lol, I took apart a 10 gig hard drive the other day just to see what was inside it. Considering I can burn 8 gig dvds I figured it was absolutely worthless.

{edit}I have the platter and motor sitting next to me. The platter is shiny and purty.

dadz,

I have to concur. You're going to have a difficult time running SuSE / KDE (or any distro with Gnome or KDE for that matter) on a 2 GB drive. You could probably run a non-graphical environment to keep it slim, but it sounds like there are some X-based programs you want to use. So... time to dig up another drive somewhere.
